The purpose of the Charles Mix Electric Wildfire Mitigation Plan is to detail what actions and activities CME is taking to mitigate the threat of power-line ignited wildfires. These actions and activities will include mitigation efforts outlined in various programs, policies, and procedures within this plan, all of which are subject to approval by the Charles Mix Electric Board of Directors and implemented by CME personnel under the direct supervision of the General Manager of the cooperative. This plan complies with the requirements of the State of South Dakota for publicly owned electric utilities which requires the preparation of a wildfire mitigation plan, and annually thereafter.
